Metal Drum Positioner Application Note

This document describes a successful solution for positioning metal drums using a Yaskawa MP2300Siec controller and Sigma V servo, achieving an 80-inch stroke in 30 seconds with +/- 0.0625-inch accuracy. The system interfaces with an Allen-Bradley PLC via Modbus TCP through a Beijer HMI, addressing challenges such as rapid screw traverse, variable product length, and the need for precise placement in metal forming applications.
