High-Slip Braking Software Application Report
This report describes Yaskawa’s High-Slip Braking (HSB) software, which drastically reduces braking time for AC drives without requiring external braking resistors, by modifying the volts/hertz pattern during deceleration to absorb load energy in the motor. It compares HSB to DC injection and dynamic braking, highlighting its cost-effectiveness, controlled motor heating, and suitability for high-inertia loads like centrifuges, mixers, blowers, presses, and laundry equipment.
