IRB 6600 Robotic Crankshaft Deburring and Brushing System Profile

This document describes an automated robotic system for deburring and wire brushing oil passage holes in 4.0-liter automotive crankshafts, installed in 2005. The system uses an IRB 6600 robot to handle the crankshaft, moving it to stationary deburring and brushing tools, and includes a common base, end-of-arm tooling, and safety equipment to improve part quality and reduce cycle time.
