Elastimold Solid-Dielectric Switchgear Retrofit Case Study

This case study details how Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) resolved frequent service disruptions caused by tracking failures in their 3-way air-insulated fused switchgear by retrofitting with ABB's Elastimold solid-dielectric switchgear. The solution utilized molded vacuum interrupters (MVIs) and molded vacuum switches (MVSs) with a 380 control, enabling a compact, dead-front retrofit within the existing enclosure while providing programmable overcurrent protection and improved reliability.
