ABB TrueView Vision-Guided Robot Racking System Application

This document describes how Ford Motor Company's Buffalo Stamping Plant implemented a unique automation solution using ABB Robotics' TrueView vision-guided robots and automated guided vehicles (AGVs) to rack and de-rack stampings for robotic welding lines. The system eliminates manual labor, reduces the need for precision equipment, and improves efficiency by allowing robots to "see" parts and racks, with benefits including easy installation, low mean time to repair, and reallocation of personnel.
