AC500 V2 Cyber Security Advisory

This ABB Cyber Security Advisory details a high-severity vulnerability (CVE-2020-24685) affecting all AC500 V2 products with onboard Ethernet, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to stop the PLC by sending a single crafted packet over the network. ABB has released firmware version 2.8.5 to fix the issue, and physical access to the PLC is required to restart the application after exploitation.
