Gypsum Rock Tram Line Modernization with Yaskawa Flux Vector Drive

This document describes the modernization of a gypsum rock tram line in Alabaster, Michigan, where a vintage 1920s wound-rotor AC motor was replaced with a Yaskawa flux vector variable speed drive and matched motor. The upgrade provided stepless speed control, precise torque management, and improved production from 210 to 230 tons per hour, while eliminating rough starts, wind-related shutdowns, and mechanical stress.
