Millmate Thickness Gauging (MTG) System Description

This document describes ABB's Millmate thickness gauging (MTG) system, which uses Pulsed Eddy Current (PEC) technology to accurately and safely measure aluminum strip thickness in cold rolling mills. It highlights the system's gapless design, alloy independence, and the new High-pass Mode option for measuring high-frequency thickness variations in thin aluminum strip (0.6 mm – 0.1 mm) for feed forward control.
