Yaskawa VFDs Froedtert Hospital HVAC Retrofit Case Study

This document describes how Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital reduced energy and maintenance costs by retrofitting its HVAC system with 34 Yaskawa variable frequency drives (VFDs) to control fan speed and air volume. The upgrade, integrated with a Johnson Controls Metasys system, achieved $693,000 in utility savings over three years, eliminated high-maintenance inlet guide vanes and dampers, and was further incentivized by a $100,000 utility rebate.
