Yaskawa AC Drives in Centrifugal Dewatering System Application Report

This application report describes how Yaskawa AC drives are used in a new centrifugal dewatering system for offshore and coastal drilling rigs, achieving a tenfold increase in production over outdated hydraulic systems. The system uses three Yaskawa drives in open-loop vector mode to control the bowl, auger, and feed pump, with a PC-based control system and DeviceNet communications for automatic speed and load adjustments.
